We are Brighton & Hove Pride’s official LGBTQ+ film festival, now in our third year.
***Submissions are now open for FilmPride 2021!***

Further to Brighton & Hove Pride’s announcement that the Community Parade, Pride Village Party and Pride Festival on Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th August 2021 had been cancelled again this year due to COVID-19 (full statement available here), we will run FilmPride online again this year.
Like last year, we’ll have an online networking event for filmmakers, and pre-recorded Q&As, available during the festival.
We will also of course keep FilmPride on TV! A selection of films from our online festival will be offered the opportunity to be broadcast on Latest TV, Brighton & Hove’s local TV station. There is also a high possibility that a few other local TV channels in the UK will broadcast our shows like they did last year.
And what’s new – we’ve decided to introduce a bit of friendly competition, and give out some awards!

FilmPride is run on behalf of Brighton & Hove Pride by The Latest Music Bar.
Brighton & Hove Pride is one of the biggest Pride festivals in the world, and The Guardian describes it as “The country’s most popular LGBTQ+ event”.
In 2020, like many festivals, due to the Covid-19 crisis Brighton & Hove Pride had to cancel their real events and switch to delivering a virtual programme online.
We did the same and the FilmPride Online Film Festival ran from 17th to 31st August. We’re proud to have brought our audiences almost 60 fantastic LGBTQ+ short films, documentaries, animations and feature films, along with Q&As with some of the filmmakers.
In addition, we screened a selection of the films in a series of television shows from 3rd to 16th August, on Brighton and Hove’s local TV channel, Latest TV Brighton, and on 13 local television channels throughout the UK. This was a highly successful addition to the festival and gave our selected filmmakers the opportunity to have their works seen by thousands more.
